Adelle Stripe was born in 1976 and grew up in Tadcaster. Her debut novel, Black Teeth and a Brilliant Smile, is inspired by the life and work of playwright Andrea Dunbar. It received the K Blundell Award for Fiction and was shortlisted for the Gordon Burn Prize. The Observer described it in their books of the year list as “a beautiful period piece of 1980s Britain, as funny and sad as anything by Dunbar herself.”

Adelle is the author of three collections of poetry and her writing has appeared in The Guardian, New Statesman and The Quietus. 'The Humber Star', her lament set in 19th century Hessle Road, was performed at John Grant’s North Atlantic Flux for Hull City of Culture and was adapted by the Icelandic composer Halldór Smárason. Her prose-poem, 'Cock of the North', appeared on Smagghe & Cross’ album MA, and was released in 2017.

She is a visiting lecturer in Creative Writing at Leeds Trinity University and lives in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, UK.

The Walking Wounded Series is an erratic beast. Titles will be released in sporadic bursts over the coming years. 53 titles by 53 different authors, in an edition of 53 numbered copies each. Any copies left unsold after 9 months (from date of issue) will be ceremonially burned and the ashes scattered into the River Wandle outside the Tangerine hq here in south London.

Limited edition, signed chapbooks, all handsewn, embossed and printed at the Sick Tangerine workshop.
